गुजरात में ‘मिशनरीज ऑफ चैरिटी’ की ओर से चलाए जा रहे एक बाल गृह के खिलाफ कथित तौर पर वहां रह रही बच्चियों के जबरन धर्मांतरण के आरोप में प्राथमिकी दर्ज की गई है। आरोप लगाया गया है कि लड़कियों को कथित तौर पर क्रॉस पहनाकर ईसाई धर्म में परिवर्तित करने और उन्हें पाठ के लिए बाइबिल देने की कोशिश की गई। पुलिस ने सोमवार को यह जानकारी दी।

मकरपुरा थाने के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि वडोदरा जिला सामाजिक सुरक्षा कार्यालय के प्रभारी मयंक त्रिवेदी की एक शिकायत के आधार पर रविवार को प्राथमिकी दर्ज की गई कि बाल गृह में रह रही हिंदू लड़कियों को ईसाई बनाने की कोशिश की जा रही है।

अधिकारी ने बताया कि प्राथमिकी में कहा गया है कि प्रबंधन ने धर्म परिवर्तन के प्रयास के उद्देश्य से लड़कियों के पाठ करने के लिए स्टोररूम की मेज पर एक बाइबिल रखी थी।

अधिकारी ने कहा कि धर्मांतरण से संबंधित गुजरात धर्म स्वतंत्रता कानून की धारा तीन और चार (किसी व्यक्ति का धर्म बदलवाने, प्रलोभन देने या धोखाधड़ी के माध्यम से धर्म बदलने का प्रयास करने) के साथ-साथ भारतीय दंड संहिता (आईपीसी) की धारा 295 (ए) और 298 (धार्मिक भावनाओं को आहत करने से संबंधित) के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया है।

उन्होंने कहा कि कथित घटनाएं इस साल 10 फरवरी से नौ दिसंबर के बीच हुईं। मामले में आगे की जांच की जा रही है।
