इन पोस्टरों पर बड़े अक्षरों में लिखा है, ‘प्रवेश प्रतिबंधित- ग़ैर हिंदू’.

इसके अलावा लिखा गया है, ‘मां गंगा, काशी के घाट और मंदिर सनातन धर्म, भारतीय संस्कृति, श्रद्धा और आस्था के प्रतीक हैं, जिनकी आस्था सनातन धर्म में हो, उनका स्वागत है, अन्यथा यह क्षेत्र पिकनिक स्पॉट नहीं है.’

इन संगठनों के नेताओं ने सोशल मीडिया पर ऐसे पोस्टरों को लगाते हुए अपनी तस्वीरें भी साझा कीं.

पोस्टरों में यह भी लिखा है, ‘यह निवेदन नहीं, चेतावनी है.’ पोस्टरों पर इस लाइन के नीचे ‘विश्व हिंदू परिषद-बजरंग दल काशी’ भी लिखा हुआ है.

वाराणसी प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी का संसदीय क्षेत्र है.

इन पोस्टरों को शहर भर के विभिन्न घाटों पर देखा जा सकता है, जिसमें पंचगंगा घाट, राम घाट, दशाश्वमेध घाट, अस्सी घाट और मणिकर्णिका घाट आदि शामिल हैं.

कई लोगों का मानना है जैसे-जैसे उत्तर प्रदेश में विधानसभा चुनाव नजदीक आ रहे हैं, वैसे-वैसे दक्षिणपंथी हिंदू संगठनों का अल्पसंख्यक विरोधी अभियान तेज तेज होता जा रहा है. मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ सहित भारतीय जनता पार्टी के नेताओं पर ऐसे अभियानों को लेकर न केवल आंखें मूंद लेने, बल्कि सक्रिय रूप से इसका समर्थन करने का आरोप लगाया गया है.

वाराणसी में ये पोस्टर पिछले कुछ महीनों से देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों में चल रहे हिंदू नेतृत्व वाले अल्पसंख्यक विरोधी अभियान का हिस्सा प्रतीत होते हैं. कई लोगों का मानना है कि उत्तर प्रदेश के आगामी विधानसभा चुनाव के संदर्भ में लगाए जा रहे इन पोस्टरों का राजनीतिक महत्व है.

घाटों पर पोस्टर लगाने के बाद ये लोग इन्हें वाराणसी के मंदिरों में भी लगाने की योजना बना रहे हैं, जहां प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने बीते दिनों काशी विश्वनाथ कॉरिडोर का उद्घाटन किया है.

इस संबंध में विश्व हिंदू परिषद (विहिप) की वाराणसी इकाई के सचिव राजन गुप्ता ने कहा है, ‘ये पोस्टर अपील नहीं हैं, बल्कि उन लोगों के लिए एक चेतावनी हैं, जो सनातन धर्म के अनुयायी नहीं हैं.’

उन्होंने आगे कहा, ‘गंगा नदी के घाट और काशी के मंदिर हिंदू धर्म और संस्कृति के प्रतीक हैं और दूसरों को इनसे दूर रहना चाहिए.’

गुप्ता ने यह भी कहा कि यदि इन स्थानों पर आने वाले लोगों की हिंदू धर्म में आस्था है, तो उनका स्वागत है और यदि नहीं, तो हम उन्हें अपने पवित्र स्थानों से दूर भेज देंगे.

बजरंग दल के वाराणसी समन्वयक निखिल त्रिपाठी ‘रुद्र’ ने भी इसी तरह की प्रति​क्रिया दी.

उन्होंने कहा, ‘गंगा नदी हमारी मां हैं, यह कोई पिकनिक स्थल नहीं है. जो लोग गंगा को पिकनिक स्पॉट मानते हैं, उन्हें इससे दूर रहना चाहिए. अगर वे ऐसा नहीं करते हैं, तो बजरंग दल सुनिश्चित करेगा कि वे ऐसा करें.’

कांग्रेस इस घटनाक्रम को विधानसभा चुनावों से पहले समाज का ध्रुवीकरण करने के लिए भाजपा द्वारा सुनियोजित साजिश के रूप में देख रही ​है.

स्थानीय कांग्रेस नेता राघवेंद्र चौबे ने द वायर  से बातचीत में कहा कि उनकी पार्टी ने पुलिस को दक्षिणपंथियों के इन कृत्यों के बारे में सूचित किया है.

चौबे ने कहा, ‘मैंने वरुणा जोन के डीसीपी को फोन कर उन्हें भगवाधारी युवाओं द्वारा शहर में शुरू किए गए इस नफरत भरे अभियान के बारे में बताया है. हमारा एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल जिला प्रशासन के अधिकारियों से मिलेगा, क्योंकि इस प्रकार के कृत्य शांति भंग कर सकते हैं और चुनावी माहौल को भी प्रभावित कर सकते हैं.’

एक स्थानीय राजनीतिक विश्लेषक ने कहा कि ये घृणित पोस्टर वाराणसी की मिली-जुली संस्कृति पर हमला हैं. वरिष्ठ पत्रकार विजय विनीत ने फोन पर बताया, ‘कोई धर्म के नाम पर राजनीतिक फायदा उठाने के लिए वाराणसी को कैसे बांट सकता है?’
