कटरा के सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्र के चिकित्सा अधिकारी, डॉक्टर गोपाल दत्त ने समाचार एजेंसी एएनआई से कहा है, ”माता वैष्णो देवी मंदिर में मची भगदड़ में 12 लोगों की मौत हुई है. मारे गए दिल्ली, हरियाणा, पंजाब और जम्मू-कश्मीर के लोग हैं. अधिक जानकारी आनी अभी बाकी है. घायलों को बचाव के बाद नारायणा अस्पताल में ले जाया गया है.”
जम्मू-कश्मीर के उप-राज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा ने इस हादसे पर दुख जताते हुए ट्वीट किया, ”माता वैष्णो देवी मंदिर में मची भगदड़ में हुई मौत से बेहद दुखी हूं. मृतकों के परिवारों के प्रति मेरी संवेदना और घायलों के जल्द ठीक होने की प्रार्थना करता हूं.”
उप-राज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा के कार्यालय ने ट्वीट करके बताया है कि उप-राज्यपाल ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से बात की है और उन्हें घटना की पूरी जानकारी दी है और पीएम मोदी ने पूरी मदद का भरोसा दिलाया है.
इसके साथ ही उप-राज्यपाल सिन्हा ने बताया है कि इस हादसे में मारे गए लोगों के परिजनों को 10-10 लाख रुपये और घायलों को दो लाख रुपये की सहायता राशि दी जाएगी. श्राइन बोर्ड घायलों के इलाज का ख़र्च भी उठाएगा.
सिन्हा ने बताया है कि उन्होंने भगदड़ की घटना की एक उच्च स्तरीय जांच का आदेश दिया है और इस जांच समिति की अध्यक्षता प्रमुख सचिव (गृह) करेंगे जिसमें एडीजीपी भी होंगे.
