हिट एंड रन मौत मामले में मुआवजे की रकम बढ़कर होगी 8 गुना, पीड़ित परिवार को 2 लाख रुपये देने की तैयारी
नई दिल्ली: सड़क हादसे में किसी ऐसे वाहन से जान चली गई जिसकी पहचान न हो सकी अब ऐसे मामले में मुआवजे की रकम आठ गुना बढ़ाने की तैयारी है। अब ऐसे मामलों में 2 लाख रुपये मुआवजा मिलेगा। सड़क परिवहन मंत्रालय की ओर से हिट एंड रन मामलों में किसी भी मौत के लिए मुआवजे में आठ गुना वृद्धि के नियमों को अंतिम रूप दे दिया है। इसी प्रकार बीमाकृत वाहनों से जुड़े सड़क दुर्घटना में मृत्यु और गंभीर रूप से घायल होने की स्थिति में ‘नो फॉल्ट लायबिलिटी’ के तहत मुआवजे की राशि में 10 गुना वृद्धि की जाएगी।
मुआवजे की रकम बढ़ाने का मकसद पीड़ितों और उनके परिजनों को तत्काल राहत पहुंचाना है। सरकारी सूत्र ने बताया कि इस बढ़े हुए मुआवजे के लिए नियम जारी किए जा रहे हैं और हम बाद में अंतिम नियमों को अधिसूचित करेंगे। अंतिम मानदंड के अनुसार, किसी भी हिट एंड रन मामले में मारे गए व्यक्ति के लिए मुआवजा 2 लाख रुपये तय किया जाएगा। वहीं गंभीर रूप से घायल होने पर 50 हजार का मुआवजा मिलेगा। वर्तमान समय में मौत होने पर 25 हजार और गंभीर रूप से घायल को 12 हजार 500 रुपये का मुआवजा मिलता है।
इसी प्रकार सड़क दुर्घटनाओं में किसी के मारे जाने या गंभीर रूप से घायल होने पर, जहां वाहन और उसके मालिक का पता लगाया जा सकता है, मंत्रालय ने मुआवजा बढ़ाने का प्रस्ताव किया है। ऐसे मामलों में मौत होने पर 5 लाख रुपये और गंभीर चोट के मामले में 2.5 रुपये संबंधित बीमा कंपनी, जिसने थर्ड पार्टी कवरेज प्रदान की है, पीड़ितों या उनके परिजनों को मुआवजे का भुगतान करेगी। यह ‘नो फॉल्ट लायबिलिटी’ के तहत एक प्रावधान है, इसलिए बीमा कंपनियां दुर्घटना के एक महीने के भीतर पीड़ितों या उनके परिजनों को मुआवजे की पेशकश करेंगी। उनके पास या तो मुआवजा स्वीकार करने का विकल्प होगा या वे मोटर दुर्घटना दावा न्यायाधिकरण (एमएसीटी) में जा सकते हैं।
